NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT

At Circuitronics we can create anything you dream of, with our vast engineering resources, years of experience, and in-house talent and equipment we have the ability to design virtually any product. We understand that you don’t have to be an engineer to have a successful product, let us help you shape your idea into a reality.

Whether it’s a paper napkin sketch or a completed design with a bill of materials we can help at any stage of your product’s development. We use a phase-gate style model for product development and we have our phases defined below:

We always want to start by knowing more about your product, design, or idea. We value your intellectual property and are always will to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement for your protection. This is also an opportunity for us to ask questions to ensure we understand what your ultimate goal is for your product.

This is when we begin to define the product and perform thorough research to help estimate the time, cost, and feasibility of the product’s development. This is typically done by selecting and defining the crucial components required for the product. The goal of this phase is:

  • To ensure the product is something that can designed and manufactured using current technology and materials.
  • The product will not infringe on any patents.
  • Find any competitor or similar products.
  • Provide an accurate estimate on how long it will take to design the product.
  • Provide a quotation on the design cost of the product.
  • Select the major/crucial components required to complete the product.
  • Give a rough estimate of final product cost in production quantities.
Our team of engineers will now begin to create 2D and 3D designs and models of the product down to the component level. A bill of materials will be created with every component required to manufacture the product. Frequent updates of the sketches and models will be sent to the customer for approval and to ensure accuracy of the concept. The final deliverables of this phase will include all the design files required to prototype and create your new product.
Our engineers and technicians will work together to assemble your prototype. We understand that our customers are very anxious during this stage of development so using our resources we are able to get many raw materials overnighted and expedited to ensure the quickest possible turnaround times. Many of the raw materials are processed in-house and a few processes such as powder coating and C&C machining are processed at local partner facilities. The final assembly is always completed in-house. We are able to work with any type of material, metals, plastics, rubber, composites, etc.
Our manufacturing capabilities allow us to handle a very wide range of volumes. Many of our prototype and NPD projects only require as little as 1 to 10 assemblies but we also provide some of our customers with volumes as high as a million assemblies per year. All of our manufacturing is done in our Sanford, Florida factory and we encourage customers to visit our 10,000 sq. ft. climate controlled factory.
We provide support for all of our products and provide warranties from 1 month to years depending on what is required of the customer. If required field personnel can be sent to fix issues when the product cannot be sent back or disconnected. We can also serve as an extension of your company as its manufacturing and technical support arm so you can keep overheads low and allow us to handle all of your production needs.
